From our roots to our vision for tomorrow

A word from Natasha Porter, Founder & CEO

Welcome to Ambassador Leaders! We are a team of educators, business leaders, parents and grandparents who believe in global education and who are passionate about helping our youth discover their talents and learn how to lead with confidence and integrity in our multi-cultural, fast-paced, competitive world.

Natasha with her granddaughter in Washington, DC.

As an educator working in the former Soviet Union and facilitating student exchanges early in my career, I saw firsthand the growth that happens when you bring together smart, motivated young people from around the world and create an environment for them to learn from and with each other. Years later, I am fortunate to lead an outstanding team of staff and teachers dedicated to creating such opportunities at each and every Ambassador Leadership Summit.

So why Ambassador Leaders? It's the type of leaders we believe are needed today, more than ever. An Ambassador Leader is someone who acts with integrity, who creates a culture of openness and who forges relationships built on mutual trust and respect, no matter what culture, race or background people are from. These are the values we strive to live by and instill in our students.

Thank you for trusting us with your children. I invite you to join us on this journey. If you are a parent, educator, student or anyone who shares the same passion, we want to hear from you! Together, we will make a difference.

Warmly,

Experiential learning at its best

Success in the 21st century demands essential soft skills like critical thinking, adaptability, collaboration and global competence. We believe that the best way to help students develop these skills is through experiential learning. From skill-building workshops and expert panel discussions to visiting professional centers of excellence and collaborating on a team capstone project, each element of the Summit is thoughtfully designed to drive active learning and help students build the skills colleges and employers seek. Furthermore, we don’t teach students what to think. Rather, the Summits challenge students to think for themselves.

Our values guide our culture

Leadership

Leadership is our core value; one we share with teacher leaders and staff and steward in students. Our brand of leadership is based on the idea that leaders seek both to improve their own skills and to serve the greater good of their communities worldwide.

_Inclusion.png

Inclusion

Our students, teacher leaders and staff come from all walks of life, and we believe that diversity is our greatest strength. At the summits, students are encouraged to be open-minded and respectful to all. Teacher leaders and staff model inclusion in their interactions with students and with each other.

Service

We embody this value in two ways. First, we are dedicated to giving every student a life-changing experience. To do so, our teacher leaders and staff act as service leaders, communicating with students and understanding their individual needs. Second, we empower students to lead through service of their own.

_Collaboration.png

Collaboration

We believe that nobody succeeds alone. Our teacher leaders and staff work with one another and with their students to make each summit a success. Likewise, students work with their teammates to develop and present a capstone project at the conclusion of each summit.

Global Mindset

As an organization, we’re proud our summits have hosted students from more than 140 countries and have provided opportunities for rich cultural exchange. Our teacher leaders and staff strive to raise students’ cultural intelligence (CQ) by promoting thoughtful interactions among each summit’s multicultural student population.
